About Us

On any given summer evening at Stone Pony Summer Stage, the Atlantic breeze rolls in off the water, the sun drops behind the crowd, and a band takes the stage at 909 Ocean Ave while thousands of fans lose themselves in the moment. Reviewers consistently point to that golden-hour experience, catching live music as the sky shifts from orange to deep purple, as something genuinely hard to find anywhere else on the East Coast.

The Summer Stage is the open-air extension of the legendary Stone Pony, a club that has been synonymous with Asbury Park rock and roll since 1974. Acts like The Gaslight Anthem and Flipturn have played here to packed, energized crowds who come for the music and stay for the atmosphere. The venue handles large crowds with surprisingly smooth entry and flow, a detail regulars notice and newcomers appreciate immediately.

This is not a polished, climate-controlled arena. It is a real outdoor concert experience, with the smell of the ocean, food vendors lining the grounds, and merch booths stocked by the acts themselves. The sound is what you expect from a great outdoor stage, honest and loud, and the setting makes up for every imperfection ten times over.

What We Offer

The Stone Pony Summer Stage hosts a full calendar of ticketed concerts from late spring through early fall, covering rock, indie, folk, punk, and everything in between. The outdoor amphitheater-style layout gives every fan a clear sightline to the stage, and the open-air format keeps the energy moving even on the most packed nights.

Beyond the music, the venue features on-site food vendors serving hot food and drinks so you never have to leave the grounds between sets. Official merchandise from touring acts is available at dedicated booths, making it easy to take something home from the show. Private and corporate events can also be booked through the Stone Pony team for summer gatherings with a backdrop that no hotel ballroom can replicate.

The venue sits steps from the Asbury Park boardwalk, meaning pre-show dinners, post-show drinks, and full beach days pair naturally with a night here. Parking and access are straightforward, and the staff keeps lines moving efficiently so you spend your time on the music, not on logistics.

"One of the best concert venues I've ever been to. It was easy getting into the shows even though it was packed. There are great vendors in here for food and merch. Got to see the Gaslight Anthem here twice. Once in the spring of 2013 after Hurricane Sandy hit the Jersey shore and once in 2018 during their '59 Sound 10 year reunion tour."

"Went here to see Flipturn last July. Super fun concert venue for the summer. The sound is honestly not amazing but it’s decent for an outdoor venue. They’ve got a couple of places to eat right inside, but it’s also situated in a great area to get dinner before the show. There was a long line to get in, but it only took around 10 minutes to get in. They usually have a great lineup so would recommend seeing a show here if you’re interested."

"My first time at the Stone Pony Summer Stage. Getting into the venue was straightforward. They have good intake and flow. The weather was great. Getting to watch each band as the sun was setting was really cool. The sound quality was on point. Lots of good vibes going from one set to the next to the next. A great way to spend a Wednesday night."

"The security staff and the employees assisting me with getting to the disabled section of the venue were warm and respectful. The view is very much a side view of the stage, not quite as good as I had hoped. The security guard below the disabled bleachers didn't care that people were blocking the view that I did have. After concert we had a very challenging time getting through with my walker, with all of the garbage on the ground. And we had to rush to get out of the way of the cleaners blowing the litter around. All in all, a good experience though."

"Unfortunately the weather went South so the opening act Lucero couldn't perform. concert started 15 minutes early and turnpike troubadours had a very limited set only about half an hour"
